Grant Ryley and the World Speed Motorsports team finished 9th in today’s round eight of the 2001 CART Toyota Atlantic Championship season at the Grand Prix du Trois-Rivieres, Quebec.
Ryley started 13th and steadily progressed to finish 9th. “It would have been great to start a bit higher up, but this was my first time on this track and it was hard to get into a groove this weekend,” said Ryley. “We really could have used a few yellow’s to tighten the field which would have given me an advantage, but unfortunately that didn’t happen.”
Point standings after Trois-Rivieres find Ryley 8th over all in the Atlantic point championship standings.
Hoover Orsi of Hylton Motorsports grabbed the checkered flag, followed by Martin Basso of Mike Shank Racing and David Rutledge of Lynx Racing finishing second and third.
Round 9 of the 12-race CART Toyota Atlantic Championship series continues at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin on August 19.
