WSM / Graham Prewett Racing concluded a highly successful partial season in the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championship. The team’s efforts were highlighted by podium finishes and strong performances from both their Pro and Pro-Am entries.
The season kicked off at Sebring International Raceway, where Courtney Crone and Scott Huffaker represented World Speed in the Pro-Am class. Huffaker, a late addition to the team, played a crucial role in refining the car’s performance throughout the season. Lessons learned in Florida were quickly implemented for future rounds. Following the opening round, Crone was selected to compete in the F1 Academy, leaving Huffaker to pilot the World Speed entry alone in the Pro class. (Sebring photo gallery)
Despite the change in circumstances, Huffaker continued to impress with his professionalism on and off the track. Adding to the team’s success, a second World Speed car was entered at Laguna Seca for Cam Aliabadi and Jaden Conwright for just this single event. Both cars achieved podium finishes during the Monterey event, showcasing the team’s overall competitiveness. Conwright also secured fastest sector times, and Huffaker led race laps. “Both drivers and cars exhibited exceptional performance from the very beginning,” stated Jan Trojan, World Speed LST Team Manager. “By refining car setups and fostering data exchange between the teams, we were able to optimize our performance and gain even more advantage as we headed to Watkins Glen.”
Despite the challenges posed by numerous yellow flags, Huffaker demonstrated impressive speed at Watkins Glen. At the Circuit of Americas, Huffaker continued to excel, competing consistently in the top five throughout the weekend in the 43 car field. A minor penalty, however, prevented a well-deserved third-place finish. The team’s strong showing continued at Indianapolis, where they secured two more top-five finishes and set the fastest ideal lap of the race. (Watch COTA race highlight video)
World Speed Motorsports has announced that they will not be participating in the final rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championship at Circuit Jerez in Spain. The decision stems from the significant costs associated with shipping the cars to Europe for the final races and the World Championships.
Instead, the team has chosen to allocate their resources towards testing and preparation for the upcoming 2025 season. “Our goal is to be in a position to compete for race wins and the overall championship next year,” stated WSM Team Principal Telo Stewart. “By focusing on development now, we can gain a competitive advantage.”
Stewart expressed his pride in the team’s performance throughout the season, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of both the crew and drivers. “Their efforts were highly recognized within the LST paddock,” he added.
The team has plans for upcoming tests in November and has one seat available for the 2025 season. Qualified competitive drivers are encouraged to contact the team directly for more information.
