Racing America and Formula Pro USA are gearing up for a thrilling weekend of open-wheel competition as Rounds 3 and 4 of the championship head to the iconic Sonoma Raceway from April 23-26.
Sonoma Raceway is set to showcase some of the world’s finest race cars and competitors on its tight, deceptively fast 12-turn, 2.52-mile circuit. Drivers will be put to the ultimate test as they maneuver through 16 stories of dramatic elevation changes, fast sweeping turns, and the track’s notoriously challenging carousel.
The weekend will feature intense battles across the classes, with World Speed Motorsports (WSM) drivers carrying massive momentum in all categories.
F3 Championship:
- Dan Decker: Currently leading the F3 Championship.
- Larry Schnur: Sitting in a strong 2nd place
F4 Championship:
- Erik Doan: 2nd
- Austin Tiller: 3rd
- Scott Pyle: 4th
WRS F4 Championship:
- Yana Kapoor: Setting the pace and leading the WRS F4 Championship.
Cross-Training and Preparation
The World Speed Motorsports roster isn’t resting on their laurels. Many of the WSM drivers have been out testing extensively in preparation for the Sonoma event or competing in other series to keep their competitive edge sharp. Notably, F4 title contender Erik Doan comes into the weekend hot off a major victory, having recently won his first 2026 Champions of the Future America X30 Pro races at the K1 Circuit in Winchester, California.
Off-Track Entertainment
Beyond the high-speed racing, Sonoma Raceway’s prime location near the world-renowned Sonoma and Napa wine regions makes it a premier destination for motorsport fans and tourists alike. In addition to the on-track action, Saturday will feature a spectacular car show, offering attendees the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with an impressive array of street and performance cars from local car clubs. WSM is hosting the Le Pit Club on Saturday, as well as a special event for the Sonoma Girl Scouts on Sunday.
