The Formula Pro USA Western Championships took place at the famous Laguna Seca Raceway this past weekend, kicking off the second half of the season in exciting fashion.
Valentino Garbarino stole the show in the F4 class. Not only did he win both races, but he also shattered the track record at Laguna Seca on both Saturday and Sunday. His teammate, Alex Cornfeld, joined him on the podium Sunday with a third-place finish.
World Speed Motorsports battled hard in the F3 class. Jay Horak, secured two podium finishes, placing second on Saturday and third on Sunday. On Sunday, Horak took over the lead and was on his way to victory when a tire went flat and he had to make a pit stop. Larry Schnur secured a third and a second place finish and had an amazing battle on Saturday with Pro FM racer Gregory Perrin.
Garbarino’s dominant performance extends his championship lead in F4 to a commanding 81 points with only four rounds remaining. The Formula Pro USA Western Championships heads to Sonoma Raceway for the next round of races, happening Labor Day weekend, August 30th to September 1st.
