Frank McCormick Biography

Frank McCormick began his racing career at Russell Racing School in the early 90s.  After mastering the Russell cars he decided to step up to the Star Mazda Pro Series.  He ran in the Star Mazda series for a number of years with much success including qualifying off pole at P.I.R. to one of the series all time greats, Pete Wise (also a WSM driver).  In 2002 Frank decided to make the move into a more modern racecar.  He ran selected events in the FTR1600 series.  In 2003 Frank ran the entire season won the FTR 1600 Sportsman Championship. After winning the championship he purchased a new Pro Formula Mazda, and has won multiple SCCA events in his new car. This season Frank will continue to participate in SCCA and ALMS races in the Pro Mazda.

When Frank is not driving fast and taking chances with World Speed, he is trying to save the world.  Frank is one of the worlds leading cancer research scientists.  He has a PHD in microbiology and is the President of the Cancer Research Institute at U.C.S.F. as well as being a Fellow of the Royal Society.  All of this being said, if you were to meet Frank you would simply think he was a great guy who lives life to its fullest on and off the track.
